Sing For Spring is a community singing initiative which raises funds for the With One Voice choir program run by charity, Creativity Australia.
Creativity Australia was founded by soprano Tania de Jong AM in 2008. With the aim of diminishing differences and empowering communities to unite through song, the charity began forming With One Voice choirs that encourage diverse individuals to gather for some singing. To date, there are 15 choirs across three states in Australia, 4 new choirs in Holland, and a pilot program in Arizona. With One Voice choirs are socially inclusive and support individuals in need. The Sing For Spring project allows the charity to reach out to the broader community, get lots of people involved, and raise much needed funds to continue the choirs.
Groups of two or more are invited to get creative and submit a video of themselves singing a song. The aim is to then share your video with whomever you can to gain votes and donations. The best videos, chosen according to the categories below, will be screened at two upcoming concerts: the Big Community Sing at Federation Square, 2pm Sat 4 October, and the With One BIG Voice Concert at Melbourne Town Hall, 3pm Sun 12 October (tickets needed).
